What is the Pre-Competition Phase?

This is the final real training phase before your half marathon. No new stimuli are introduced - only familiar elements. Workouts are designed to prepare you physically and mentally for race day!

What is the goal of the Pre-Competition Phase?

  • Build confidence for race day

  • Practice pacing and test your gear

  • Focus again on good habits

  • Test race equipment (shoes, nutrition, breakfast routine, etc.)

What to expect in this phase?

  • Mostly threshold training and some activation runs

  • No new stimuli - just stabilization

  • Lots of mental preparation: How does your target pace feel?

  • Last training load before the race

Typical content:

  • Practical race day tips

  • What and when to eat, how to start optimally

Important:

Now is not the time to catch up on missed training. You are ready.
